Catalog Printing

Dual Print and Mail is a Reliable Source For Catalog Publishers Large and Small

Along with Internet marketing the catalog printing continues to be one of the most cost effective weapons in the marketer’s arsenal. Savvy advertisers produce beautifully illustrated catalogs in addition to maintaining an Internet presence. Printed catalogs combined with electronic media enhances the value of both. Advertisers find that catalog printing representations of their products are superior to what is possible on the Internet. Their customers, even those using the Internet for their actual purchases, often refer to the printed catalog where products can better be illustrated, where colors are truer and where descriptive text is easier to read. Customers retain physical catalogs while emails and other electronic messages are forgotten.

Offset Printing is Preferred for Most Catalogs

Sheet fed offset production is economical for press runs from several hundred up to 5,000 or more. Accurate reproduction of your product photography is obtained and unit costs are much lower than with digital printing. In addition, offset unit prices decrease substantially as press runs increase.

If press runs are over 5,000 web offset (roll-fed) can reduce your unit costs even more. Web fed presses print at much greater speeds than sheet fed presses and ours can fold inline. Roll paper is less expensive than sheeted paper of equal quality. Our heat set web presses are capable of excellent reproduction using a wide range of coated papers, including lighter weights than can be produced by sheet fed or digital printing processes. Lighter weight papers cost less and often save postage cost by reducing mailing weight. Papers ranging from 40 lb. to 100 lb. text basis weight can be printed on our Rotoman presses.

Digital Is The Way To Go For Short Run Printing

For very short runs of up to a few hundred copies, digital production can be the best choice. Very short press runs make sense when the products being marketed have periodic specification or styling changes. When this is the case the advertiser can avoid being confronted with an inventory of obsolete catalogs. Short press runs with updated specifications and illustrations make much more sense economically.
